Hello. We are the Grimes Family from Southern California. In November 2006, we began organizing groups to volunteer their time to rebuild homes for the Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims. Our groups have been able to serve the residents of the St. Bernard Parish through a grassroots non-profit called the St. Bernard Project (SBP). Our family was so inspired by the dedicated staff at the SBP and the determination of the residents to rebuild their community - we were moved to take action.
We purchased a home destoryed by Hurricane Katrina in April 2007. We have been able to rebuild the home for volunteers with the help of family and friends. The house was completed in August 2007 and we are eager to motivate others to volunteer in the rebuilding efforts.
